Question 1

Do I need farming experience to volunteer in Pokhara at Lemon Agro Farm?

Accepted Answer

No. Most of our volunteers are first-timers. You are paired with a farm family member each morning, learn by doing — picking lemons, turning compost, planting vegetables — and finish around 1pm in exchange for a private or shared room and home-cooked Nepali meals.

Question 2

How do I get to Fulbari-11 from Lakeside, Pokhara?

Accepted Answer

Lakeside to Fulbari-11 is a 25–35 minute ride. A taxi costs roughly NPR 700–900; local buses run along the Baglung highway and stop a short walk from the farm. Tell us your arrival details and we arrange a pickup from your hotel or the tourist bus park.

Question 3

Are meals included for volunteers and farm-stay guests?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Volunteers receive three meals a day — dal bhat with seasonal organic vegetables, garden salads, lemon pickle and chai. Farm-stay guests can add breakfast and dinner to any room rate. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free plates are cooked on request.

Question 4

What do volunteers contribute, and how long can I stay?

Accepted Answer

Volunteers work about 4–5 hours a day, six days a week, in return for accommodation and all meals — no program fee, no agency commission, paid directly to the family. Stays run from 3 days up to several weeks; 2–4 weeks is ideal to see the full farming cycle.
